Show Reports

A summary of each train show attended by the NRMRC is provided to update the membership on the event. Each report highlights the show, and also notes any encountered  issues, problems, and resolutions that occurred during the event. This is done to continuously improve the activities of the Club

This show was a joint effort by Central Carolina N Scalers (CCNS), Lynchburg Area N Scale (LANS), and North Raleigh Model Railroad Club (NRMRC) held in Warehouse #3 at historic Spencer Shops in Spencer NC on 12-13 May 2017.

A total of 14 NRMRC members participated in the TCA Show on May 6, 2017 in the Scott Building at the Fairgrounds. Former member Dan Harker (of Harker Gulch fame) stopped by for a visit; Dan lives in Asheboro.

The T-Track exhibit at Carol Woods Retirement Community in Chapel Hill on April 1st was a great success, both for the residents and staff and their families, and for the club members.  The location was ample and convenient, and there was help from the staff and residents for setup and publicity.  Many had expressed interest as well as nostalgia.  Most had not seen N-Scale.Thanks to all who participated and who attended.

Another great time had by all...Thank you to everyone you made this show possible.

Successful T-TRAK run at Galloway Ridge

As we do each year the NRMRC participated in the Train Collectors Association December show at the Scott Building, NC State Fairgrounds. A total of 15 members participated in the show.

The North Raleigh Model Railroad Club completed another successful show with the Neuse River Club this past weekend, November 5&6 2016. This year we resumed display of the Junior Engineer layout in addition to Both the N-TRAK and T-TRAK Layouts.

The NRMRC participated in the 2016 NMRA MER Convention held at the RTP Marriott with a T-TRAK layout featuring Apex. Since our Apex modules are a model of a prototype scene we were in the RPM (Railway Prototype Modelers) room.

Eight members of the NRMRC participated in our 2016 Selma Rail Day T-TRAK layout, which was located in Selma Station.

Based on the available modules our layout was L-shaped and measured 14.5’ x 12’. This was the first time our only layout was T-TRAK, and clearly it is the way we should continue in the future. The lower size is perfect for viewing by younger folks.
