Show Reports

A summary of each train show attended by the NRMRC is provided to update the membership on the event. Each report highlights the show, and also notes any encountered  issues, problems, and resolutions that occurred during the event. This is done to continuously improve the activities of the Club


The NRMRC operated both T-TRAK and NTRAK layouts at the 2018 Neuse River Valley Show from November 2 – 4, 2018.

As we have for the past 15+ years, the NRMRC participated in the Selma Rail Days, from October 4 - 6, 2018. Our T-TRAK layout consisted of 6 tables and was located as usual in Selma Station. We received $150 from the Town of Selma for our participation.

Ten members of the North Raleigh Model Railroad Club attended the 2018 Old '97 Rail Days weekend in Danville, September 21 – 23.

The North Raleigh Model Railroad Club displayed and operated a T-TRAK layout at the Johnson Health Clayton Hospital - Derailing Diabetes Event on August 25, 2018

NRMRC participated in an NTRAK train show at Windsor Point Retirement Home in Fuquay-Varina, as we do each year, this past weekend, July 21-22, 2018. A total of 15 NRMRC members participated in this show, with 8 participating all 3 days.

On May 12, 2018 the North Raleigh Railroad Club along with the French Broad e "N" pire and the Lynchburg Area N-Scalers setup and operated a T-Trak layout and the North Carolina Transportation Museum.

This was our first venture at exhibiting at a medical facility and in particular kids undergoing medical care. The goal was to interact with as many kids and family members and for the purpose of entertaining and educating them about model railroading.

The North Raleigh Model Railroad Club attended the 2018 Neuse River Valley - Spring into Trains Show in Raleigh, NC May 5, 2018 where we setup and operated a T-TRAK layout.

This was our second show at Carol Woods retirement community in Chapel Hill. We had eleven members present plus Bob McGeehan came and rejoined for 2018.

This was our first show with Cypress of Raleigh retirement community in Raleigh. Our T-Trak group, along with some N-Trak guys attended the show. The total through out the day was 16 members and associates.
